Niche Affiliate Marketing Tips That Work

Posted by admin under Marketing

Here are some affiliate marketing tips that will knock your socks off and help you make money right away.

I’m not going to bore you with the usual stuff, like “go to ClickBank to see what’s hot”, create a Blogger Blog or Squidoo lens, write articles that link to those sites acting as landing pages. No, this article goes beyond the normal regurgitated stuff you’ve probably heard or read a thousand time already.

To make money with niche affiliate marketing or even with Adsense, a simple method for doing this would be what I call trend marketing or traffic surge marketing.

If you view a T.V. show or hear about a new movie coming out, or are aware of when the next Oscars event is taking place, go to Google Trends find out what the hottest terms are right now for those events.Check out the most popular search terms for today and for the past few days. Then create the perfect storm of a landing page promoting a product, a content piece with just Adsense on aside from your content, and post these articles on a free blog that will rank quickly like Blogger or Wordpress. There are a lot of people following this business model and putting up quick, dirty ugly sites like this to capitalize on the “surge traffic” also known as “trends traffic”.

What you want to do to beat them at their own game is to anticipate what the trends are going to be so you can get ahead of the surge of traffic.

How do you get ahead of the surge of interest to position yourself ahead of the crowd and ride the wave of traffic?

Watch some television, read a newspaper, or just take a general birds-eye view of what is hot right now.If Oprah Winfrey recommends a book to her book club, many people will go to search the internet to buy it so get ahead of that traffic by setting up landing pages to promote that book via your Amazon affiliate link.

You’ll know what might be of sudden interest for certain niches that you may have built sites for already, if you have any marketing skills at all.

Here are 2 examples for how I did this for my niche sites:

I have a website about home brewing and one day when I was at the movies with my son I saw a trailer for the Beer Wars Movie.  As I was sitting there, I thought that this would be of interest to my site on home brewing so I found a trailer for the movie on YouTube and embedded the YouTube video on my site. After that little post got indexed, I reviewed the movie trailer and did some research on others’ opinions of the movie.

My second post was a review on the movie itself.  I did all this in 20 minutes, most of which was spent reading others’ opinions on the movie.  When the movie went live, there was suddenly a lot more people searching for “Beer Wars Movie Trailer” on the search engines.

In anticipation of the sudden but temporary traffic surge, I decided that I would make sure that I was page 1 for those terms so I used Backlink Solutions to quickly catapult my site to page one for those terms. I was already on the first page for the search terms that I wanted when the movie went live.

Example #2 of how I use offline resources to anticipate a surge of interest and traffic for my niche sites.

I was reading the newspaper one day and saw something about an antiques show where people were bidding on a 300-year old birthday cake. I assumed that since this bit of news made it to the offline newspaper that it would be of interest to people going to my antiques furniture site.

So I wrote the post about the antique birthday cake, but the traffic spike and Adsense earnings didn’t come like I had anticipated.  Granted, I still got a lot of traffic for that particular post but I was a Johnny-come-lately with that bit of news and it wasn’t totally relevant to a site about antiques furniture but since the site was about antiques some visitors found the birthday cake post of interest.

However, it did increase my daily Adsense earnings for that site for a few days.

If you’re into niche affiliate marketing one of the best ways to do SEO for your sites is to write for people and to understand your niche and to write newsworthy items, or rather, to write about newsworthy items of interest to them.  If you understand your niche and your target audience, you really don’t need to rely on keywords lists to get traffic.Just by writing about what is really of interest to your audience, you can often generate great amounts of traffic.
